Jim enjoyed his active life of cycling and tramping, knowing that particularly as he grows older, how important it is to remain mobile.
After a devastating cycling accident in Dunedin, he has now found himself confined to a wheel chair. After a long hospital stay Jim has moved into a rehabilitation programme which led him to the Dunedin Physio Pool. This unique facility with its warm water, easy access, large, wheel chair friendly changing rooms and hoist into the pool has enabled Jim to continue to exercise. Something he has found invaluable not only for the physical aspect but also importantly for his mental well-being.

Five years ago Hannah, a fit and healthy University of Otago student, was on her way to Gore in the middle of winter. She never made her destination as she had a car accident that forever changed her life and the lives of her family. Her injuries were so severe that she had to spend a whole year in hospital.
Listen to Hannah’s rehabilitation success story which the Dunedin Physio Pool has played, and is still playing, a major role.
Experienced physiotherapist Bronagh regularly uses the Dunedin Physio Pool for her clients’ rehabilitation. One particular success story is her involvement with Hannah over the past three years. She talks about the impressive progress Hannah has made since her terrible car accident five years ago that saw Hannah spend a year in hospital recovering. Her rehab has been helped significantly due to the Dunedin Physio Pool.
Bronagh details how accessible the Physio Pool is with a ramp leading directly to the pool, changing facilities poolside and a hoist for those who can’t physically get themselves into the pool.
